Excellent Training

Roger L. Terrel, DVM, founder of Bay Area Veterinary Housecalls, presently has 30 years experience practicing veterinary medicine and surgery. He graduated Cum Laude (with honors) from Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. Whereas most Veterinary graduates require 8 – 10 years or more of college to obtain their Doctorate, Dr. Terrel managed to finish in just 7 years, while still ranking in the top 10 percent of his class. While at Texas A&M, Dr. Terrel was consistently ranked on the Dean’s List and was elected to membership in no less than four nationally recognized Collegiate Honor Societies, including the prestigious Phi Zeta: “The Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine.”

Practical Experience

After graduating in 1985, Dr. Terrel spent his first 2 years practicing in Longview, Texas. The next 15 years were spent with Austin & Associates Veterinary Clinic in Texas City, honing his skills and diagnostic abilities while seeing a heavy and diverse case load. During the next decade, Dr. Terrel continued his practice as an associate with a small animal hospital in Pearland, where he earned a reputation as being a caring, knowledgeable, and reputable veterinary practitioner. He has a special interest in both orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Terrel has been a member in good standing of both the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association for his entire 30 year career. The State of Texas requires all licensed veterinarians to obtain a minimum of 17 hours of Continuing Education each year. Over the past 8 years, Dr. Terrel has obtained an average of 28 hours of Continuing Education annually, through his participation in seminars, conferences, and hands-on laboratory sessions conducted by experts in the many disciplines of veterinary medicine. Dr. “T,” as many of his clients know him, now proudly brings his experience and reputation right to his patients’ front doors through the development of Bay Area Veterinary Housecalls.
